Indian Air Force chief A.P. Singh, in a speech today, said: “Whether it is evacuating civilians from conflict zones, as we did in Sudan; or whether striking terrorist infrastructure and its perpetrators; or whether hitting multiple bases in Pakistan within a matter of hours to send a message that enough is enough and bring them to their knees, it was air power that proved decisive. That is a fact that must be remembered.” History, however, will also remember that just as India gained the upper hand through devastating airstrikes, New Delhi abruptly agreed to an immediate ceasefire. The cessation of hostilities just three days into the Indian operation helped revive Pakistan’s international image, especially in the Islamic world. It was widely seen as having held its own against a more powerful adversary. That perception proved consequential, helping spawn the Saudi-Pakistan mutual defense pact, which could now become trilateral with Turkey’s inclusion. At home, the Pakistani military, despite suffering significant blows in the brief conflict, succeeded not only in rehabilitating its damaged standing but also in staging a constitutional coup, with the army chief consolidating absolute power legally. U.S.-India relations, meanwhile, deteriorated sharply. In short, while the Indian operation may have been a tactical or military success, it amounted to a diplomatic and political failure.

The Hindu Mind
Perfectly put. What is it about the Hindu mind that it can see the branches of a tree but not its trunk?

Hindu concept of time — explained in 5 minutes:

Rakesh Ahuja @DwnlodingMyMind · Jan 10

Time - The Existential Imperative
#Time is the quintessence of our existence. It gives rise to all civilisational values, whatever the culture.
I would express it somewhat differently, but reflecting the same axiomatic thought, as it is presented here. In my #CulturalIntelligence #CQ workshops, I note:
In the western rationalist linear system, there is begining of time and an end of time at any juncture of activity;
In a schematic culture, such as China, there is a beginning of time but no end.
In Hindu culture, there is no beginning or end to time.

Well, if imbecilic @realDonaldTrump can be worshipped by some #Hindutva zealots, why not kooky #Putin?

The Hindu Mind
The concept of #Democracy in India stems from #Individualism inherent in #Hinduism, not because the Brits or any other gave that ideological model to the denizens of this land. That is why India has not experienced revolutions. Communist successes in #Kerala and #WestBengal were an ideological movement among the literate lot, seduced by Marx, not an internal 'self-belief'. Hence, it faded away in time.

The Hindu Mind
Neither. Actually, the culprit is the #HinduMind: Follow the rules inside the family home, but do what you please outside. The Hindu way of life promotes individuality, not collectivity at the public level.

Whom Should We Blame?

Government, Babus, or Shameless Public?

The Beating of Retreat ceremony at Attari-Wagah on the Indo-Pak border is apparently set to resume this week. This is extraordinary. Merely two weeks ago, the two were waging a near full-scale war that could have spiralled out of control, even apparently, into the nuclear dimension!! In this rite, soldiers from respective armies ape each other side by side, foot by foot. That apart, it is difficult to discern the purpose of this colonial liturgy relic unless it is simply the lure of lucre (from the spectators). Does the Indian polity not recognise that this long-standing ritual subliminally reinforces the impression of India's equivalence with Pakistan? That, ironically enough, one enduring objective of Indian foreign policy is to disabuse the world of any such parity? A part of the explanation, at least, may lie in the #HinduMind. It is suffused with veneration for rituals and (repetitive) mantras. The form is idealised; the substance is secondary. The British objective was to show the Empire's might to its subjects. What is the objective of the (secular) Republic of India?

These people living in their ivory towers are clueless. India missed every single train in the past and will miss every single opportunity in the future. India has no potential. You can increase the tariff on Chinese goods to 1,000%, yet India will fail to benefit from this. x.com/ashajadeja325/…
