The ways of Islam?
This is how Muslims bring popular aversion onto themselves. Islam must reform if it is not to be perceived forever as a political ideology masquerading as Faith. Which other God forbids such simple human touch for greeting another?
The Chinese have a long memory. This silly little act will not be forgotten in a hurry by millions of Chinese who watched it on TV. #CCPchina's commitment to erasing Muslim culture in China, e.g. of the Uyghurs, will only be strengthened by this insult to the #XiJinPing and #PengLiyuan.
PS. Back in the 1970s, in the context of Human Rights, I observed the persecution of Muslims in #Xinjiang, and of Jewish communities' remnants in Harbin and Shanghai.

Propinquity's Influence
A personal note on your delicate, subliminal message below. Looking back, I now confess that, despite my indignant protestations to the contrary to innumerable interlocutors in my life, my thinking was indeed influenced by my partners across the board: principally on the #Shoah/Jewish soul, Australian civilisation, Chinese Culture, LGBTQ+, the #RussianMind, asylum seekers in Europe, and #UglyIndiansAbroad. Yes, I now accept that sustained gentle propinquity to the 'other' plays a part in shaping one's perceptions, sometimes discounting facts. #auspol #interculturalism #multiculturalism
