Indians in Australia
This is precisely the message I attempt to convey to Indians at intercultural and multicultural forums in Australia. They do not understand that their public practices and behaviours, as this gentleman is pointing in the context of America, are way out of sync with Australian ways and thinking. Multiculturalism is a two-way street. Indians in Australia and New Zealand are (rightly) perceived as selfish 'takers', not 'givers'. And, still, so many do not understand why they are the most disliked ethnic community in both countries.
I write this as one of Indian heritage who has lived in Australia nearly seventy years. I know how the perception of me on the Australian street has changed since this mob of uncultured and self-centred Indians started to migrate here in 2000.
I am still accepted, but with suspicion and a tinge of contempt. And dislike. #UglyIndiansAbroad #auspol #AustralianMulticultaralism http://DownloadingMyMind.com

Ugly Indians Abroad
I am not surprised at all. For over seven years, my articles on Indians in Australia have not found any taker because of the fear of opening the Pandora's box of the sacrosanct Multiculturalism.
Anecdotally, South Asians are the most disliked ethnic community in Australia and New Zealand. I should know because, after 65 wonderful years with Australians, who always had a soft spot for India, I am now treated with caution tinged with contempt.

Massive protests against immigrants, especially Indians, in Australia.

They're treating Indians the way Indian RW treats Bangladeshi immigrants & Rohingyas.

Are they Australians?
#Australian_Multiculturalism empowers immigrants to preserve and celebrate their heritage. But they must also learn to appreciate and reciprocate their host's cultural and political heritage. How many of these #Indian_Australians celebrated #AustraliaDay? Or even know about the significance of #ANZAC Day? #Multiculturalism, which, in effect, replaced the #White_Australia policy in the 1970s, must not become a one-way street.

From Mumbai to Melbourne, the spirit of India 🇮🇳 flies high! The Australian Indian community in Melbourne came together with pride to celebrate India's 79th #IndependenceDay. Wonderful to see Indian actor #AamirKhan join the community at Federation Square for the flag raising.

Perils of Multiculturalism?
Multiculturalism has reached a stage where its primary objective of promoting the acceptance of 'the other' is now being undermined. [#Multiculturalism_Australia]

Palestinian Protests
If this is so, it is an extraordinary warning. It defies the central tenet of multiculturalism - live and let live. Instead, pro-Palestinian protestors, like any others for any cause, must be warned against any aggressive or other anti-social behaviour at their rallies - as…

Australian police have tonight warned Australian Jews not to go near the Sydney Opera House, Town Hall and Central Business District. Let that sink in for a second. We are supposed to be a democratic, multicultural country
