Trumpian Tragicomedy?
Is it possible, just possible, that #RealEstateorTrump is being calculatedly hung out to dry, to display his incoherence in public? Surely, not all the courtiers in the conga line who are always present behind him during his monologues are stupid? Or not be aware how pitiful such rambling makes him, and them, look?
And then there is the stark absence of any family member being physically present with him on public occasions. Where are #Melania, Ivanka, Kushner, the #Lurch, etc.?
The President of America, however nakedly neurodegenerative, still matters in international affairs. This outsider can be forgiven for asking if a concocted Shakespearean tragicomedy is in play here? Is that why prominent Democrats, Newsome apart, and past Republican heavies are conspicuously silent?

While Americans Slumber...
1. Are Americans so blind that they cannot see what lies ahead in the reign of their elected monarch #RealEstateorTrump?
2. It is ironic that in countries supposedly less 'advanced and educated' than the #USA, veritable public protests would have sprouted by the equivalent stage today at which the #TrumpianMob is undermining or dismantling the very tenets of the US Constitution.
3. Think of protests earlier this week in #Ukraine against #Zelenskyy, aiming to dilute the power of anti-corruption regulators.
4. Recall the Rainbow and Velvet Revolutions, which occurred in Eastern Europe from the late 1980s to the early 2000s, leading to the end of communist and other corrupt rules, and the establishment of more democratic governments.
5. Consider the ‘Colour Revolutions: Rose (Georgia), Tulip (Kyrgyzstan), Cedar (Lebanon), Orange (Ukraine) and Saffron (Myanmar). Add the Arab Spring (various countries, 2010-2012) and the Second Intifada (Palestine,2000-2005). And many more, albeit on a smaller scale.
6. But Americans are somnolent as their Republic and its values decline. Are saner Americans calculating that the Trumpian storm will gradually ebb away because of its own rash misteps? In that case, ask the German power brokers in 1933, who thought #Hitler as the Chancellor would be a puppet and the Armed forces loyal to the #WeimarRepublic would control his (#ICE-like) #Nazi storm troopers.
7. It is time for the Americans to wake up to emerging realities in their formerly Great America.
8. PS Trump does like to emulate dictators. In the best tradition of Lenin and Kim Il-sung, US Cabinet members have started sporting lapel pins displaying Trump's likeness! No, not the US flag, but Trump.

The American Tragedy – A Mad King
1. Looking at the United States from an outside perspective, it certainly seems that Americans have a Mad King on their hands. Using three (subjective) traits—narcissism, dishonesty, and sexual misconduct—as a basis for comparison, the closest historical match would be #Nero or #Caligula of the Roman Empire. Among modern Heads of State, Silvio Berlusconi (Italy) probably comes closest to Trump - notwithstanding half-mad George III (England), the deranged Ivan the Terrible (Russia), or Ibrahim the Mad (Ottoman).
2. #Trump shares with Caligula and Nero a rampant narcissism, erratic behaviour, self-aggrandisement (e.g., being the "best" at almost everything), and a need for public adoration (e.g., a focus on populist rallies, like Hitler). Undoubtedly, both emperors would have adopted media-driven personas if they had had access to the means available to Trump.
3. Admittedly, he is more modest than Caligula in not declaring himself God, but he keeps reaffirming his messianic role (e.g., God saving him from assassination attempts to Make America Great Again). WH Spiritual Advisor, #PaulaWhite, has no doubt whetted his megalomania with, “To say no to Trump is like saying no to God.”
4. #Berlusconi provides a close modern parallel to Trump. His flamboyant narcissism, media manipulation, and sexual scandals apart, he, like Trump, also used his wealth to project power; faced legal scrutiny for personal misconduct; and fabricated narratives to bolster his populist base.
5. Trump’s varied picadillos and current Epstein-laden travails uncannily resemble Berlusconi’s sexual predilections. Silvio came under fire for his “bunga bunga’ parties with young women, allegations of paying for sex with minors (e.g., the Rubacuori case) and soliciting underage prostitutes.
6. Self-proclaimed American exceptionalism is fading. Trump’s conduct, seemingly untrammelled by the Republic’s Constitutional structure, is so often reminiscent of a Third World tin-pot dictator.
7. When #BenjaminFranklin was asked what type of government the Constitutional Convention had adopted, he responded, "A republic, if you can keep it." Well, America is unravelling 239 years later. Franklin's words on their Founding Fathers' great experiment are, or should be, hauntingly distressing to Americans watching the American Tragedy in motion.

The Decline of America
Cobb makes a succinct case against #RealEstateorTrump. Aside from the economic damage worldwide and at home, the US has now lost its global credibility to influence foreign denizens and governments. For example, it can now hardly issue (even sanctimonious) calls on human rights or corruption in other countries with a straight face.
#SoftPower takes years to inculcate in foreign psyches; #HardPower makes an immediate impression. The bottom line is that the US has unwittingly given an imprimatur of sorts to #autocrats, and even tin-pot dictators, to do as they please. The United States of America is close to scraping the bottom of the racist behaviour barrel. In effect, this order by #StephenMiller, the #Goebbels_reincarnate, authorises grabbing anyone who 'looks' like an illegal immigrant. sycophantic Ushers and courtiers had to proclaim set phrases/slogans as
the sovereign entered or exited or issued orders. For example, "Bless the
Tsar and beat the Jew" in some Tsarist courts.

Lutnick: "With your leadership and your policies we're gonna open all these markets and we're gonna let our fishermen thrive and prosper and we're gonna have lower cost fish, more of it, and the freshest fish in the world. And this is just common sense for the United States of America."

Yes indeed! It is high time for America,
the Land of Washington (national unity), Jefferson (individual rights),
Lincoln (emancipation), Douglass (civil rights), Susan Anthony (women
rights, 19th Amendment), Emerson (transcendentalism, God), Roosevelt
(New Deal), Thoreau (civil disobedience), Kennedy (New Frontier) - all
Woke/ Leftists obviously - to learn from El Salvador's President Bukele.

Trump Lapel Pins
Just like the obscene idolatry (forcibly) accorded by sycophantic courtiers
to the likes of the Supreme Leader of North Korea. Mao Zedong too had a
similar lapel pin which #CCPchina cadres wore.

"possess a superpower"? You mean that the State of Israel owns the United
States of America? How is that the "first time in [your] history"?

Echoes of George Kennan in Trump's Doings
It is improbable that
@DeveloperTrump
, who boasts of not reading books,
has ever heard of George Kennan, Truman's Ambassador to the Soviet
Union in the late 40s. Kennan is famous for his 1946 "long Telegram", which
prescribed how the US could "contain" the Soviet Union and its aggressive
policies to spread the Contagion of Communism worldwide.
Some elements in Trump's (incoherent) foreign policy approach echo
Kennan's cold and precise scripts. In 1948, Kennan wrote:
"We have about 50% of the world's wealth, but only 6.3% of its population.
… In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment.
Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships
which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity. … To do so, we
will have to dispense with all sentimentality and day-dreaming; and our
attention will have to be concentrated everywhere on our immediate
national objectives. … We should cease to talk about vague and … unreal
objectives such as human rights, the raising of the living standards, and
democratisation. The day is not far off when we are going to have to deal in
straight power concepts. The less we are then hampered by idealistic
slogans, the better."

The century long complex conflict, replete with barbarism by all parties involved, boils down to just this for the President of the United States of America:

#DeveloperTrump: “I actually think Gaza is an incredible piece of real estate. If we relocated the Palestinians to other countries, we’d have an amazing ‘free zone.’ It’s a prime location, and people would love to live there. Having a peacekeeping force like the U.S. take control and own Gaza would be a good thing.”

Vance: “The president said we have to have Greenland, and I think we do
have to be more serious about the security of Greenland. We cannot just
ignore this place. We cannot just ignore the president’s desires.”
Soviet style sycophancy at display here. "President's desires"? In other
words, Trump is America and America is Trump.

Looking into America from the outside, what will finally motivate its people
to say to Republican Constitutional wreckers and supine Democrats what
Cromwell said to the Rump Parliament in 1653?
"Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government. . . . Ye are
grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the
people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest
grievance. . . . Go, get you out! Make haste! . . . In the name of God, go!"

Rakesh Ahuja @DwnlodingMyMind · Mar 17, 2025
A valid proposition.
As an outsider's passing thought, it recalls Lincoln's words that “a house
divided against itself cannot stand”. Ironically enough, one element, the
residue of slavery is still in play. After all, Trump and his cohort seek to
restore a bygone era of American political and racial hierarchy that
dominated American society until the sixties.

Black Saturday: The Day the United States Ceased to Be a Constitutional Democracy The Moment Democracy Ceased to Function 🧵1/10: Saturday, March 15, 2025, may have seemed unremarkable to most Americans. But in time, history will remember it as Black Saturday—the moment the United States ceased to function as a constitutional democracy. For the first time in modern American history, a sitting president openly defied a direct federal court order—and nothing happened. No intervention. No enforcement. No consequences. A legal ruling was issued, and the White House simply ignored it. The White House’s Decision: Power Over Law Inside the White House, the decision was not about law—it was about power. A federal judge ruled against the administration. The debate inside Trump’s team was not whether the ruling was legal, but whether they could get away with ignoring it. They decided they could. And they were right. This was not a clash between equal branches of government. It was the moment the judiciary was exposed as powerless. The courts do not have an army. They rely on compliance. But a court that cannot enforce its rulings is not a court—it is a suggestion box. And a presidency that can ignore the courts without consequence is no longer constrained by law—it is an untouchable executive. Trump did not declare the end of judicial authority in a speech. He demonstrated it in practice. This is how democratic systems collapse—not with a single act, but with the normalization of defiance, the expectation that a ruling can simply be brushed aside. https://theintellectualist.com/black-saturday-us-constitutional-crisis-2025/

Is it in our national interest to expel the russians from every inch of Ukrainian soil, including Crimea? – asked National Security Advisor Waltz. This was his response to the host's question about whether Ukraine would cede part of its territory to russia as part of a peace agreement.

Rakesh Ahuja @DwnlodingMyMind · Mar 17, 2025
Effectively, Waltz is ruling out any possibility of Russian withdrawal from
captured Ukrainian territory. Is this pre-negotiation 'give away' genuine deal
making?

Those who disagree with the territorial realities of the Ukrainian conflict, hoping to push out the Russians, risk provoking World War III.

#DealerTrump is but a faint mote in comparison with #MaoZedong on any
scale of intelligence or literacy. Still, Trump's disruptive actions, mutating
American democracy into chaos, ironically echo some aspects of Mao's
Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution.
