Retribution, Sino and Semitic Styles
As a CQ practitioner, I can confirm your observation about the Arab way of exacting a price for an insult.
Notably, one #CulturalValue that is shared by Semitic and Chinese #Civilisations is that neither forgets a slight. Ever. The lump of blame in their thorax does not dislodge readily. It may take time, but the revenge will ultimately be taken.
However, the difference between the two on this score is that the schematic (Lao Tzu) Chinese will wait for decades to ensure that the eventual outcome yields dividends beyond just the payback. All and everything under the constellation must be right before an action is taken. In contrast, the linear #Semites focus on the earliest opportunity to exact retribution, being less concerned with the immediate collateral damage or advantages that may ensue from their haste. The MBS response to the #trump insult and, indeed, the ill-considered #Israeli decapitation of #Khamenei are examples of this approach.
