Taking Cultural Intelligence to the Street
As I progress towards the establishment of a Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Centre, the first of its kind in Australia, I will gradually share aspects of its objectives, including: Developing and nurturing Cultural Intelligence skills, encompassing cross-cultural, multicultural, and intercultural understanding through cross-disciplinary research. The CQ profession must now move from boardroom heights to everyday, ground-level communities. Australia urgently needs to recharge measures to safeguard social cohesion, enhance cross-ethnic dialogue, and ease tensions from conflicting cultural norms and mindsets - transitioning from Multiculturalism (accepting the ‘other’) to Interculturalism (understanding the ‘other’).
